Richard Martineau whines that Englishes are racists (again). In a blog entry named "Pourquoi les Anglos préfèrent la mafia aux séparatistes" Monsieur Martineau uses the French "journalist's" friend le plagiat to fill out his word quota. Too chiche to provide a link to the original story, he does the copier coller only adding "Vous ne trouvez pas ça offensant, vous? Sinon carrément raciste?"
Racist? When did separatists become a race?
I'm just joking. I know that M. Martineau means that since all Québécois are separatists, an anglophone making jokes about separatists insults the entire pensée unique gang. Of course his (and all other Québécois) definition of Québécois includes all pure laine, vieille souche Francophones blancs. It doesn't include us racists impure laines just paying taxes.
Just who is this evil racist Québécois-offender? Rick Blue is half of Bowser and Blue, a Quebec comedy group. I've said it before and I'll say it again, maybe they shouldn't be allowed to read English. While Richard Martineau's colleagues continue to use the words "tête carrée" and "nègre" in their filthy racist newspapers, he's looking in English newspapers for "insults" to the "Québécois" from the non-Québécois of West Island. He can't understand the subtleties of anglo humour (but don't expect him to speak to anglos in French, he's too good for that) and he has no clue who this "Blue" person is.
I've heard French journalists moaning that Prime Minister Harper wouldn't know who Jean-Marc Parent is (lucky him). Should he? I think not. However, if you are going to accuse someone of racism (rather than writing your own article) and you claim to be a "journalist", you could at least find out who our cultural icons are before accusing them of racism. The "Québécois" refuse to answer us in French because they "know" us so well. You know shit!
